Sensitive to Gepretix/Uterogestan but need to up dose

I've been on HRT since Oct 2020, I'm now 52. I was on 3 pumps of Oestrogel and 200mg Uterogestan for 12 days (more recently Gepretix due to change in prescribing) taken vaginally because of side effects. I felt awful last year, so GP upped my dose to 4 pumps and because I was having such a rollercoaster with progesterone, 100mg continuous.

I had been having bleeds after the 12 days previously. Since starting this new dose in September last year I felt really great, bleeding stopped completely and I felt much more 'level.

Then I started spotting every couple of weeks last month. GP has said to up the Gepretix to 200 daily. I can absolutely see the need for this, but this is day 3 and I am already feeling the foggy headed, headachy side effects again.

I would rather reduce Oestrogel than cope with this again - unless anyone has tried anything else? And should I be having a scan due to (very light) spotting?

I feel your pain. I found that using the second Utrogestan vaginally reduced my side effects and after a few months I could swap to taking them both orally, one morning and one night.

or maybe you’re already taking them both vaginally in which case no advice other than that for me the side effects did wear off after a few months at each dose.

Thanks for your reply @WashableVelvet I do take both vaginally so I will keep going and see how I feel in a couple of weeks. have a GP appointment then and can talk about doses.
