When in cycle to start HRT?

I still have occasional periods and am about to start HRT - does it matter when in a cycle I start? Like I started a period yesterday (Christmas Day, not ideal) but it was the first I’ve had in a few months. I was planning to start the HRT today but wondering if I now wait till the end of this period?

Check the info sheet that comes in the box with the HRT. I think they recommend starting within 5 days of your bleed starting. I'm in a similar situation - started HRT on Christmas Eve. Just the gift we wanted, eh?
