Early menopause (possibly)

I possibly am experiencing an early menopause. Hope it's ok to post here? I feel quite upset about it all at the moment. I'm only 36.

I went to the doctor because I have been experiencing the worst anxiety of my life - so bad that I developed a kind of stutter for the first time ever when talking to people.

My periods went a bit wonky (long and short cycles at random) about 12-18 months ago but I put that down to stress) so I mentioned that too.

Dr sent me for blood tests and my FSH level came back at 90 - Dr said it should be below 30, so I need another blood test in a few weeks. HRT was mentioned. I feel sort of shell shocked to be honest.

It could well be that. Are you able to ask your mother how old she was when hers started? An early menopause is something that can run in families.

Perhaps you could ask your GP to refer you to gynaecology at the local hospital. It was they who finally diagnosed mine. I was 39 by then.
