Stomach pains anxiety in peri?

I’m 42, & started HRT in June mainly due to hideous psychological problems, I became suicidal during my luteal phase every month.

I’m on 75mg estradot, and 200mg utrogestan days 15-26.

The problem I am having is a kind of panic sensation in my stomach for much of the day. It starts when I wake up, then comes back frequently with every tiny worry I might have. It feels like a huge over reaction to normal life!

I had always been a super chilled person until peri menopause started, and generally HRT has made my mental health a million times better, so the stomach anxiety pain is confusing me!

Does anyone else get this? its making me miserable! 😟

Have you had any counselling?

Yes I have had talking therapy, with an amazing therapist, on and off over the last 4 years; I’m at a really good place with my therapist and feel really good about life generally.

The panic sensation feels entirely incongruous to how I really feel? I’ve had a ton of stressful stuff over the last twenty years, why now am I feeling these awful physical stomach pains!

I’ve seen a few memes on instagram about women over reacting to tiny things (“my wife/mum jumps every time I walk into the room” type thing) so I wondered if this is a middle age ‘thing’.

I would love to know the pathophysiology of what is actually going on :(
