Extreme noise sensitivity- who else is suffering?

I am becoming increasingly sensitive to sounds, and it’s starting to seriously impact my quality of life. It’s worse during PMS, but now seems to feature all month long.

I find earplugs really uncomfortable (even the Loop ones), so have been using noise cancelling headphones sometimes to try and dull the noise.

But even then, any loud sudden sounds, or when the total volume in the house from the 3 DC starts to rise, it just gets unbearable. I feel like I am constantly telling my DC to quieten down, which then brings on the mum guilt.

Anyone else have this and found anything that helps?

I found loops help but you’ve said they hurt your ears. Have you tried a different brand or a different ear bud?

Thanks. I struggle with all the earbuds I’ve tried. Guess I will have to stick with the headphones.

HELLO (shhhh!)

This was my most aggravating symptom. And I teach teenagers and they make annoying noises.

Have all the earplugs and headphones and a Snoozeband for sleeping. But I'm hoping HRT will make me less murderous.
