Silly question - missing periods but feeling like you’ve had one.

51, periods still regular ish until recently. Not on hrt yet and doing ok symptoms wise for the most part..

i missed last months period (whoohoo) but it really felt like i was about to come on. Sore boobs, off the charts anxiety, weepy, raised temp at night, crampy period pain. All the pms symptoms I’d had for the last 40 years. But no bleed.

then after a few days all good again. Like the start of a new cycle. And now weirdly some ovulation symptoms which I’m sure at this stage are just taking the piss..

whenever I have very occasionally had a delayed period before it’s been like I have teetered on the edge until I start. This time it’s like I’ve had the entire cycle just no blood.

is this a thing? I have always had a lot of cycle symptoms and been able to tell exactly where I am so this not being able to tell what’s happening is freaking me out a bit.

Yes, they're called "phantom periods" and are a common symptom of peri, so don't worry! I had them too, when my periods became more irregular. Just hormones playing silly buggers.
