Have you spoken to a GP?
I was prescribed mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid when I had an extended heavy period

Please go and see the doctor, this isn’t something you should just accept.

i ended up at the doctor as mine we’re horrifically heavy, even the tranexamic acid tablets weren’t working, I had to plan every day so I knew where toilets were as I was flooding, I went to the doctor and she listened and gave me a few options, I’m on the prostegen only pill and it’s amazing, Ive had one period since and feel like I can live my life normally. Without the dread of long, painful and extremely heavy periods.

i e researched and you can be on this pill until 55 and hopefully by then my periods won’t come back.

Hi @Hec1977 I agree with the others. Contact your doctor, ASAP.

Hopefully your GP can prescribe something and request a scan.

My heavy periods started around age 49. They were erratic; sometimes with clots and lasted more than 7 days. I took tranexamic acid, it helped a little.
My periods are lighter now, but can come at unexpected days.
