Anyone else had terrible ovary/ abdominal pain during peri menopause?

That's it really. What was just ovulation pain for 2 days a month when I was younger is now almost constant severe pain some months.

I've had tests for cysts and even ovarian cancer but all negative. Almost every night for a week I have what I think is ovarian pain and a really swollen stomach. It's so painful I cannot do anything, it subsides with ibuprofen but I can't take that for 14 days a month. Periods have started to be less regular but it is I like my ovaries are straining to push out whatever remaining eggs are left and it is sooo painful!!

Going back to the GP and booked for a hysteroscopy but just wondered if anyone had anything similar? It would be reassuring to know in bot alone.

Have you had a transvaginal ultrasound? I had increased pain in Peri and was diagnosed with adenomyosis. Fixed with hormones

Thanks for the reply. I have had two but it didn't turn anything unusual up. I'm wondering if the hysteroscopy will show anything. It's very weird!

I experienced the same for over a year, on and off. It was an absolute nuisance! Identical to normal period pain, but outside of my usual cycle. It was around the time my periods started to become more irregular. I've had no periods now for eight months, and, thank goodness, the cramping stopped altogether at the beginning of this. Hopefully that'll be it for me now, crossing fingers.
