44 years old, late period and negative pregnancy test

As it says in the title. My periods had been pretty regular. I felt like it was coming a good 10 days or so ago (have time blindness so can’t even remember). I even wore a pad in anticipation on and off for a few days, but it didn’t come. My teenage daughter usually coincides with me, but hers has been and gone. I feel like I’m probably about two weeks later than normal, despite feeling on and off that it’s coming any minute.

After excruciating cramps (sharp pain rather than ache) yesterday and still not coming on, I did a pregnancy test this morning which was negative (thank god). My partner has had the snip, but I know these things can reverse themselves!

What is going on with me?! Are there any other reasons this may be, besides peri, or is it actually properly starting now?

Thsnks in advance!
