Started HRT two weeks ago. Estrogen patch stopped my migraine and night sweats which were the two main peri menopause issues. Started the Utogestan 2 nights ago. Supposed to take 2 tablets for 14 nights but was worried about side effects so was told for first couple nights I could just take one. First night heart racing when first took due to anxiety and restless sleep. Felt ok yesterday but a very upset tummy . Took again last night and was wide awake at 4 am and felt panicked . Woke today with headache. So worried about increasing to two but am happy with the estrogen patch which has no side effects.
Can anyone share experiences to reassure me things will improve? I can’t bear to go back to daily migraine and really want HRT to work for me .

Try inserting the utrogestan vaginally, many women do as it cuts down on side effects.

Also (I'm not suggesting it is all psychological) but try not to over think it. Easier said than done yes but when you introduce any new medication into your body there can be an adjustment period whilst your body gets used to it so try positive thinking eg the progesterone is a good thing to protect against endometrial cancer. It actually has a sedative effect on many women so the wide awake bit will undoubtedly be anxiety as you say.

Try calming apps, deep breathing etc aswell as vaginal use.
