Hot flushes and no sleep.

I am god know how many years into this phase of life. I went 223 days without a period then the fricker turned up in February, and now I am on day 263 without one… which is fine … (roll on 365 days).

Now, my main symptoms are headaches, the drenching flushes, all through the night, several in the day, but no where near as many as the every 15 minutes from the moment I go to bed. I sleep in shorts, windows open, fan on, half in, half out of a cover, but nothing can stop that internal burning which leads to having sweat drip off me. It’s gross, I feel disgusting. My apple watch showed that last week I got a total of 4 hours and 7 minutes sleep, ALL WEEK, and also the latest is chin acne!

I can’t do HRT due to blood clots….

Any suggestions?

I'd ask your GP to refer you to a consultant gynaecologist who knows about menopause (or refer yourself if you can afford privately.)
Much HRT now is transdermal and doesn't increase clot risk above your own level.

Have you seen a specialist already to discuss this?

Have you have a DVT in the past?

Poor sleep- 4 hours in total in a week is a huge health risk in itself.(That's 30 mins a night?)

I hope you can see someone who can help.

Definitely try and see someone.

Anecdotally, magnesium and mineral supplements and a high fat/low carb diet with an emphasis on red meat has helped me. Plus hot baths and a red light lamp.
Red meat to finally get the iron I needed, low carb to lower inflammation, and high fat sort out hormones and help with energy levels. It's not everyone cup of tea, but I can sleep. I notice if I forgotten the magnesium and skipped the red light, as I just can't get to sleep.

If you want to learn about the rationale for low carb/high fat re menopause watch this:
