Anyone lost their appetite on HRT?

I started HRT patches on Tuesday this week and since then my appetite has more or less disappeared.

I imagine it feels similar to being on weight loss injections. I generally love food, but now I find I am
ambivalent about it and only eat when I feel
I should or my tummy rumbles.

I am quite overweight so this is a good thing as I could do with shifting 1-2 stone. I am
also aware that HRT may not be a long term solution for me as I have endometriosis and it may flare up again.

Just curious if anyone else has experienced this loss of appetite- I was terrified I would put weight and it looks like the opposite will happen.

Yes, my appetite has all but disappeared since starting HRT 2 years ago. Have never a a particularly big appetite anyway.
I started on sequential HRT for 18 months and when I changed to continuous and taking progesterone daily my appetite vanished.

I can confirm that I have not had that experience on conti HRT!

rookiemere · 07/11/2025 12:53

I think conti is what I am on.
Its so weird, I have always had a hearty appetite but now I am forcing myself to eat.
Not complaining mind !
