I don't know where (or when) to start with the menopause symptoms/treatments

I am getting some mild symptoms. I am 43.
Night sweats being one of them, dry skin, anxiety, aches.

Do I just go to the GP and tell them? Will they prescribe me anything do you think? Do I have to have any tests? I am clueless about this type of thing.

Just go to the gp and tell them. As you are under 45 they might do bloods, but it's worth getting the conversation started not least so you can understand your practice's attitude to HRT.

Definitely visit asap to get it on your record. In my experience you have to go through a variety of hoops before they will prescribe any hormones - each with a 4-6 week gap between. So the earlier you can do it the better.

  1. lifestyle advice - sleep, food, exercise
  2. basic blood tests
  3. another blood test
  4. Trial hormone prescription

I started a selection of supplements - magnesium, vitD, multivitamin, omega 3, glucosamine. My friend swears by Ginko Biloba

You could also ask your gp if they run a local menopause clinic you could go to for more information and advice
