Menopause after HG

Has anyone else found themselves really suffering similar symptoms in perimenopause to hyperemesis symptoms when they were pregnant?
I went on HRT a few years ago as I started was having similar symptoms to when I had HG 20+ years ago - uncontrollable vomiting at certain times of the month. But HRT has only taken the edge off - I've been told its trial and error but anytime I try to change to a different type, or change the dose, the sickness starts again. But the hormone/ menopause symptoms are still pretty bad.
Has anyone found they get hormonal sickness with menopause, like they had in pregnancy and have found something which helps?

Following as the idea of this is terrifying, I've not heard of it happening before but am mid 30s.
Have they prescribed you anything like ondansetron to try and take the edge off?

Sorry don't mean to scare anyone. If its any consolation, I did suffer very severely with HG so I clearly very sensitive to hormones. And it is only at very specific times of the month, not continuous.
HRT has got the physical sickness under control, but I often still feel nauseous at those times of the month. Any the other menopause symptoms are not fun. The gps/ menopause clinic just said to try different HRTs, but any other ones I've tried so far makes the sickness start up again, so I've stuck with what I'm on.
Has anyone else had a similar time with menopause?

This is very interesting because I've been experiencing a mild version of this and it was only yesterday I said to my husband that the only thing I can compare this feeling to, is my hg pregnancies. I haven't been sick but often feel close and have nausea - it's like a very very mild version of HG. I do think it's peri related, I've only just entered this territory over the past 6-12 months, but I hadn't connected to how I felt in pregnancy until this week and now this post.

Thank you for sharing sorry I can't be of help.

Thanks for sharing, its good to hear from someone else (although I'm sorry you are having similar symptoms). Its something I'd never heard or thought could happen either until I started keeping a diary and realised the sickness was only happening at certain points of my cycle.
And I had found HG sickness was so different than viral sickness, and this was the same hormonal type too.

I think I'll do the same and keep a diary because like you it definitely fluctuates. I currently have the mirena Coil which I'm planning to have taken out soon so I wonder if that will impact things too.

That’s interesting. I suffered awfully with HG in both pg, but had a virtually symptomless menopause.

This is interesting to me too as ever since a terrible HG pregnancy I've sometimes had mild HG symptoms around menstruation, especially when my periods first came back. Apparently this is unusual but not unheard of. It's a distinct sensation from ordinary nausea isn't it.

I'm early 40s now and I'd say at the beginning of peri, starting to get some symptoms. I really hope it doesn't develop as yours has!

It does sound that we aren't alone in subsequently having nausea etc from hormones after HG. As if HG wasn't bad enough!
It is interesting, my GP's or the menopause clinic hadn't heard of a link before, but were happy for me to go on HRT as I was late 40s. The HRT has helped but not sorted it completely.
@Beedeeoh my diary showed that the sickness was worst round menstruation too. Like you, the nausea and sickness feel so different when its hormonal.
Hopefully someone will come along soon with some hints to help!

I also suffer each month, usually the day before my period arrives. The nausea is unbearable, sometimes I also vomit. I honestly question how I ever coped the full pregnancy! It must be hormonal
