Persistently itchy vulva - weird stress reaction or peri?

I have a lot going on right now at work. Enjoying it in a way because of the sense of achievement but it's a lot of deadlines and pressure and the fear of failure is real.

For the last month at least I have felt like I have thrush. No discharge though. And thrush treatment didn't cure it. It's driving me insane, I think it's better and then it comes back again. It has also stopped me and DH having sex so he's not loving it either.

Can this be a stress response? Sometimes i feel like it's worse when i am feeling anxious? Or is it a sure fire perimenopause thing and i should be heading to the gp?

  1. Periods still regular although they have been lighter since last pregnancy at 40.

Stress can trigger an autoimmune disease called Lichen Sclerosis which affects the vulva. Itching is one of the symptoms. Do go and see a Dr as Lichen can cause a lot of damage if you don’t get it treated.
