Questions that I forgot to ask my gynaecologist- please help!

  • I have been prescribed hrt patches, 4 a month - where is the best place to put them? Any tips?
  • what about swimming? Do I need to remove?

It should tell you on the information leaflet where to put them but I seem to recall it’s below your waist so bum, hips, upper thigh, lower back.
you keep them on all the time so you might want to put it somewhere it’ll be under your swimsuit. And watch for them coming off!
also make sure you read the instructions if you’ve got the type with 2 different patches in the box!

Place them on your hips, it’s best to alternate hips I find and they leave a sticky residue which I get off with nail polish remover. As for swimming, I went to a spa day and it didn’t come off.

Put them somewhere below your waist. The adhesive on them tends to collect threads etc off your clothing, so I end up with the edges coloured by whatever I’ve been wearing, so when I take them off, I have little squares left. For this reason I put them on my upper thughs, rather than buttocks as I can pick the glue residue back off easily. They will stay on for swimming, as will the old squares left behind by previous ones 🤣

Baby oil on a bit of cotton wool gets the sticky bits off!
