Hi all

I've been battling with vaginal atrophy / GSM for more than a year now. Tried Ovestin and the other estriol cream which just irritate. Vagifem ok and use twice a week but still sore and dry. Am on 2 pumps systemic estrogen per day. No progesterone as have had a hysterectomy.

I'm feeling like I need to see an expert. I live in South Cambridgeshire but am willing to travel to London say. Any recommendations?

Also, has anyone been in my situation and found relief - if so, how?????

Thanks. Xxx

@MaryWesmacott TBH I'd say yours is a relatively easy problem to solve.

You can use Vagifem more than twice a week. Posters here report being ok-d to use it daily or 4 x a week, by consultants.

For info, the dose changed around 10 years ago from 25mcgs to10mcgs so it's less than half the original strength.

As you don't have a womb there is no risk of hyperplasia, so you could use as much as needed to get an improvement. Likewise you could increase your gel to 3 pumps- 2 is the 'norm' but some women are fine on 1 pump others need up to 4 a day.

Hope this helps.
