Chronic itching

Has anybody going through peri menopause experienced chronic itching? I'm so itchy all over my body, like insects crawling. It's been going on for at least 12 months but not constant. Today has been really bad. There's no rash and I'm not experiencing other allergy symptoms like sore eyes, sneezing etc., no rash. I do have a GP appointment booked but it's driving me mad. I cannot identify any obvious link, it's not related to central heating as it's been all year round. I've never been allergic to anything.
Thank you in advance.

Low vitamin d.

Read it here, got tested, turns out it's true. Didn't think mine would be low since i take a supplement in winter but as it was low the dose didn't touch it.

Was able to stop taking anti histamine when I got it treated

I've been taking a daily antihistamine too but it's not really helping. Are you taking OTC tablets or are there stronger/alternatives available?
