Bleeding on the mini pill

I've been on Desogestrel for about a year. I had some spotting for about three months after starting it then it stopped.

About 4 weeks ago I had a period, my first proper one in months. Now for the last few days I've had period pains on and off. Today I've had cramps all afternoon and a tiny bit of tinged pink discharge.

I went in the pill because my periods had become erratic and very heavy. I'm 48 definitely in Peri. I've had recent bloods done for pretty much everything. CA 125 was normal but my FSH was elevated.

I hoped being on the mini pill would alleviate my period problems but they seem to be starting up again.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Yep. Mini pill was horrendous. I had heavy, erratic periods anyway in peri, but the mini pill made it worse. It made me bleed solidly for 5 months, Mirena coil was the same. Awful.

I was on it a few years ago with no problems at all. It stopped my periods and all was good. I'm guessing now I'm in peri it won't work as well.

No period yet, but I've had period pain on and off all weekend and lower back ache.

Im going to contact my GP and see if I can get an appointment.

Hi there, did you get to the bottom of this? I've recently started my hrt journey and was prescribed cerelle as I wasn't on any birth control, this is my 3rd month and ive had cramps for 4 days but no bleeding.
