Age 51 and well into peri but the symptoms in the week before are actually becoming unmanageable, anger, wanting to cry for no reason and also thoughts of the only way out of this is to disappear.
This has got worse in the last six months.

Anyone else experience this? already on long term low dose of Citalopram for anxiety.
Thanks

Yes. A gp prescribed me the mini pill to stop ovulation because she said that’s the time when the PMT is at its worst. The pill was Cerazette I believe. It helped. I’m post menopause now and also on citalopram for anxiety x

Not quite the same, but I had far worse pmt in early perimenopause. Just felt awful for days, not angry but very low and no motivation. This was when periods were crazy flooding, frequent and I think my hormones must have been massively up and down.

I’m still perimenopausal (never ending) but my periods are further apart and lighter now and don’t have those lows.
