Mid 40s and wide awake at stupid o'clock, every time I try to fall asleep I boil in my bones, meanwhile dh snores beside me. I'm exhausted and fall asleep every time I sit on the sofa then wake up boiling, then try to sleep in bed and the whole bloody cycle starts again. By day I'm ok so I get too absorbed in work to remember to call my gp during the 5 seconds they release appointments. I'm too young for this shit. After years of endometriosis I had an ablation and coil and 5 years off and now I'm back at the mercy of my fecking hormones again.
Arghhhhh!!!!

Dh would absolutely hate separate rooms @Lottapianos and I promise he's an absolutely fabulous partner in every other way. He does more than 50% around our home, supports my goals, takes dd to all her clubs and is such an all round lovely person and he'd be gutted. We've been married forever and it's a compromise. I think I'd miss him too!

Oh no did the antihistamine not work for you?

You are an absolute genius @Bonsaibaby . I took 1 loratadine and slept for most of the night and didn't wake up in a cauldron of boiling oil. What a difference!!!

Yey! Honestly since my friend told me I’ve been trying to share this easy fix!

Well I'm awake at stupid o'clock again but that's because dh is snoring like a jack hammer. Has my gp appointment today and she's prescribed oral oestrogen and progesterone combined hrt as my risk factors are so low and it'll protect my endometrium. My local pharmacy has stock in on Thursday so hopefully will be starting this Friday. Weirdly I'm feeling a lot better since restarting daily antihistamines but want to make sure my bones remain strong as my knees are a bit weak. Still getting stupid dry mouth but it's not covered in ulcers anymore so at least I'm not in pain. Definitely feeling on the road to getting through this.

Thank you all for your advice, sympathy and giving me the push I needed. May the whims of peri menopause have mercy on us all!
