Hi, im after some support and advice. Im 43 I have the mirena coil (haven't had periods for years)
I also have MS so I suffer with brainfog and fatigue as part of this, over the last month or so I haven't felt quite right. I keep feeling really warm and despite wearing deodorant the same one I always have worn im sweating a lot.
How do you know if you're in perimenopause when some of the symptoms are what I deal with with MS day to day.
Thanks

Do you have any other symptoms that could be perimenopause that you can’t attribute to MS? I have brain fog, mood swings, night sweats, heavy periods (you’ve already covered that). The mood swings are the most noticeable symptom, happy, to sad, to a blind rage within the space of minutes!! It’s a bloody delight isn’t it?!

@WLnamechange when I was in peri my armpits did smell a lot stronger. Could the other symptoms be part of the multiple sclerosis having a flare up? Would it be worth asking your doctor for a blood test to check the hormone levels? Hugs x

Hi, I was given a symptom checker and told to complete it every 2-3 months.

There are a few online. The NHS one is on this webpage

https://www.nhsinform.scot/healthy-living/womens-health/later-years-around-50-years-and-over/menopause-and-post-menopause-health/signs-and-symptoms-of-menopause/

The British Menopause Society also has some useful information.

There is no perfect test yet for menopause, I confused a lot of symptoms with other things before I realised.

Good luck x

Thankyou for the replies. The frustrating thing is my MS flares up when im warm. God knows how that's going to work out for me with hot flushes. Anything I go to the GP about is blamed on MS so I know I will get fobbed off.
