Really painful breasts.

I’ve always been large chested. I’m a 32 GG (I have a very narrow rib cage for the size of me.)

I’ve suffered from discomfort my entire life. I have back pain, I have huge welts in my shoulders, rib pain, basically all the shit that goes with it.

Ive always worried about menopause, and how it will affect me with this matter. However, I didn’t not anticipate the absolute agony that I’d have as my cycle starts to freak out. I’ve always had tenderness before periods, but this is now a whole new level of agony.

I do high impact sport an I’ve always had to wear two sports bras to offer the right support as nothing else works. (And I’ve spent £100s trying to work that out!) But I’m finding the pain so unbearable at times now that this is no longer working to give me the support to reduce movement.

It just makes me so sad. My GP won’t listen to me about this so I’m not going back again. I have a hormonal coil fitted and have been told there’s no way I can have HRT while that’s in, so that option is out. I was in Ozempic for about a year to try and lose weight, but my breasts didn’t get any smaller but I did shift 11/2

I wondered if anyone else experiences such huge discomfort in their breasts like this and what you do to help the pain? I take I ibuprofen don’t know if it’s a normal peri/menopause symptom (and it really DOS feel like burning!) or if it’s just because I am so large.

i get anxious to think I’m going to have to manage this and I’m starting to absolutely hate doing sport because of the burning pain. But if I don’t exercise I’ll start getting fat.

What can I take or what can I do to just feel normal again when this happens?

I hate it SO much.

My gynaecologist prescribed progesterone supplements for this - swolllen, aching, painful boobs starting the day after I ovulated and continuing till my period starts. I have a gel to apply directly on my boobs and a capsule. It’s working really well, boobs are much less swollen and painful. It’s not proper HRT so idk how it interacts with the coil 🤷‍♀️. I’m in France and it has to be prescribed so I assume it’s the same in the Uk?

Can you have the coil changed? And in the meantime do you know what hormones are in it? Are they synthetic or bio identical?

would be worth speaking to a menopause clinic about what they can do for you.

as it sounds like some bio identical hormones could be helpful. I see you have had some good suggestions already
