Oestrogel side effects

Escapedtohighlands · 09/09/2025 16:30

I started on Oestrogel 2 pumps and Utrogestan 100 on Saturday, so I’m only 3 days in. I’ve got the most awful nausea, intermittent headaches and some bloating.
Whilst I note these are all expected side effects the nausea is particularly frustrating and I’m wondering how long the side effects have lasted for others, plus when I might start to feel the positive effects.
I know we are all different but be good to have a rough idea 😊

At 3 days in I would assume it’s more likely to be a virus than Oestrogel related to be honest. It takes a good few weeks for it to really get going in your system.

So was your experience that you had no side effects or positive effects for a few weeks?
the leaflet says these side effects are normal even at this early stage but wondering how long people had them for.

Are you taking both or just the oestrogel
at the minute?
I am day 5 of oestrogel today and I don’t h think I have any side effects. Maybe a slight headache when I woke up this morning but then I did a 13 hours shift and went straight to bed with drinking anything. Oh, a tiny bit of bloating maybe.

I am not looking forward to the progesterone phase though…

I’m taking both. Started both on the same day and have to take both every day.
Felt absolutely rubbish today.

I'm taking the same as you OP. I had a headache for a few days, but not nausea. After a few weeks I got a sore itchy left boob for a few days.

Stick it out for a wee while. Everyone has different side effects, some people have none. Your body is getting used to new hormones raging through it.

I take both (utrogestan only 2 weeks out of 4) plus testosterone. I haven’t had any side effects but I have found it easier to lose weight.
