Question on blood tests

I had a doctors appointment to try and get HRT. (The battle begins). I have been told I need blood tests to check my levels. However, if I'm on the pill surely this masks things anyway? Will it show an accurate reading? (Aware levels change daily).

No need for bloods over 45. Fine to test on progestogen pill but not combined.

Over 45 yes. Progestogen yes.

So yes you could have an accurate FSH test, but no it isn't needed, and a normal FSH doesn't rule out perimenopause or menopause. I would sound out the receptionists about which GP is most into menopause. In my practice they would send you to me! It almost certainly isn't the one you saw......
