Period is late by 2/3 days. I can't tell, anymore. It has been anywhere from 23-26 days for the last 12 months and we're here on D27 with nothing in sight.

The symptoms were here this week, so I helped myself to eating most of the house down in preparation, only for nothing to happen.

I've been on a strict diet for months, which can affect periods, but I'm also 45+ and have a thyroid bloods test due, so I don't know what is happening.

The stress from just WAITING for something to happen, or nothing, was not anticipated. Added to that, I'm on a long haul holiday in 2 weeks and the unpredictability of what is happening is nerve wracking.

Could use some of your life experience/tips on how to mentally navigate all of this. The lack of predictability is so stressful and fear of the unknown.

TIA.

Would you consider a mirena coil to hopefully stop periods altogether? Then you can just add in oestrogen if you want HRT

During peri, periods end up all over the place. Mine went from missing 1,2 and 4, to one cycle of 17 days.

It's just how it goes.

You might miss 2 cycles or even more. No one can predict.

If you have other symptoms, maybe consider HRT which will give a regular HRT cycle.

There's also a lot of info online about eating /not eating certain foods to avoid the carb cravings of PMS and taking exercise to reduce the symptoms.
