Hello, I am 54 years and am on Evorel 75 patches and usrogestan tablets for the last year or so. I was feeling ok on them and managing my symptoms. For the last few weeks I have been feeling so low, emotional and sensitive and a bit paranoid at work (feeling like I am hopeless etc), crying at normal emails. I would appreciate some advice if I should go back to GP or anything else I should try - natural, medical or lifestyle. Thank you ladies xx

Progesterone can have this effect on some people. I have one friend who became suicidal when she started taking it (she'd never had any MH issues in her life before up to that point), and another who nearly lost her well-paid, high-level job over personality changes relating to progesterone (in her case, insertion of a Mirena coil), so I would definitely go and see your GP and alert them to these changes that you've noticed. For many women, it's just a case of changing the delivery method - so tablets to gel, or coil to tablets, etc.

I don’t think HRT is a one-and-done process - it might need adjusting. Maybe you need more oestrogen so you could try 100mg patches. Maybe is progesterone as PP suggests, but if you’ve tolerated it for the last year, it seems less likely.
