Itchy sore armpits after shaving (before period)

Just as the title says, really. I have had really sore armpits and the redness is mainly in the creases, it started about a couple of days before my period started.

I think it was aggravated by my shaving, but I've never had a bad reaction to shaving before. I thought it could have been a possibility it was a fungal infection as I have a bit of athlete's foot too, but now I'm wondering if it's more likely to be hormones.

Anyone else have any problems with sore armpits? There's a condition I read about that begins with h (sorry, I can't remember what it is called) that i wondered whether it might be too 🤔

I've had this exact thing, was also wondering if it was fungal but used clotrimazole religiously for a week and it did nothing. Shaving definitely aggravated it. I hope it's not hormonal as it's really sore and can't be doing with that every month on top of all the usual PMS stuff 😆

Ah interesting, I found the name of what in think it might be. Here's a few screen shots of it.

I usually epilate, but have had some lumpy red patches - not ingrown hairs but 0.75cm by 4cm patches in the creases. So I shaved instead of epilated, and then having read the Menopausal Armputs thread, I used anti bac gel the next day.

I now have a hive type rash from just above elbows to my armpits, around the sides of my armpits and down my torso. Period is due too, so perhaps it's hormonal not anti back gel related by my God it itches.
