Hi ladies
I'm coming upto you 44 & want some help with peri symptoms & hrt recommendation
So my periods are still regular but more 26 days opposed to 28 now
Shorter & lighter..
I have a really odd head fuzzy off balance feeling ALOT, especially after travel & I believe anxiety doesn't help.
My sleep is now very disturbed and wake up around 4am which makes my head feel worse!
Lots of ovary type pains & period pains before period..
Random panic attacks now & again in the night.
Hair loss for a while..
No hot flushes but consistently feel hot & sweaty
Really think peri is kicking in..
Ive seen my doctor & ive been given sequential patches, estrogen & progesterone but just waiting on period..
Would love to hear you're peri symptoms & hrt plus success stories ;)

I am in exactly the same situation and have come on here searching for info! I saw my GP yesterday who was brilliant, went through all the options and decided on the Evorel Sequi patches. He didn't really say much about how to use them and the instructions are confusing my already befuddled brain! There are 8 patches in the box so should they last one month, have I got that bit right at least?!

Cbpoppy · 23/08/2025 03:54

Hi @itsybitsyteenytot
So the box is a months worth. Starting in order its 2 weeks of estrogen & 2 weeks estrogen + progesterone.
You change twice a week. No break. Patch to be worn on bum/thigh/hip area

How old are you? Whats youre worse symptoms? X

I'm 45. Well insomnia! Migraines, anxiety & hormonal rage are the worst really, but I have a long list of other symptoms too, but I could deal with them.

Thanks for confirming that, my GP said it was 2 months worth which is what threw me, he was obviously mistaken.

I'm just waiting for the 5 day mark now to use the first patch. I spot for 3 to 4 days prior to actually starting my period fully, plus my cycles have been getting shorter. They have gone from 28/29 days to around 24/25. So I think I'll start the patch 5 days before I would expect to next start spotting at 21 days which is next Friday. When will you start?

Cbpoppy · 23/08/2025 04:09

Good morning lovely. The fact we're messaging at 4am says it all 🤣. Ive woken up with period type pain now & last night but no bleeding yet...
This is a new thing for me! Period due next week. I'll start as soon as I see any spotting or bleeding so probs next couple of days.. my periods were always 28/29 but now 25/26 and insomnia has been bad last few weeks, fall asleep ok but wake at 3/4am...
My head feels all over the place ALOT! a bit like on a boat at times and causes anxiety. I'm almost 44. A whole box patches is a month. They should prescribe 2 boxes a month on prescription to last 2 months xx

The insomnia is rubbish! It's been really bad for 3 to 4 months for me. Lack of sleep really doesn't help the rage situation either!

I am really sensitive to medications so I hope I can tolerate the patches and that they help.

My head is all over the place, I'm forgetful and often everything feels quite overwhelming.

I'm not sure what to expect - do you know if they will stop the period I am expecting to have and I'll have a bleed when using the second patch?

Cbpoppy · 23/08/2025 08:32

Hey
Lack of sleep is just awful on all the symptoms. Some say the patches are great & some change to the other progesterone if it doesn't agree with them in pill form. You should still have a regular period but wether it will be different i have no idea..I'm hoping it doesn't make it heavy or long as mine aren't to bad once they arrive x

My periods are absolutely no issue, so hopefully they don't change. Good luck for when you actually get started. Let me know how you get on as you may start before I do.

Cbpoppy · 23/08/2025 15:34

Yes I'm the same once it arrives its not to bad...Yes will do also. No period as yet x

Are you not aiming to use the first patch 5 days before your period starts? Or have I misread that?🙈

Cbpoppy · 23/08/2025 18:56

Hey lovlies You have to start in within the 1st 5 days of youre period. Ideally day 1 I guess

itsybitsyteenytot · 28/08/2025 15:54

How are you getting on, have you started the patches yet?

Cbpoppy · 28/08/2025 18:59

Well my period came this time bang on time & has only been 3 days and ok. I put a patch on, only had on for a day, felt odd..
After having it on a few hours felt a bit head rushy & then by bedtime had a headache & slept really bad..
Must be placebo i know but I certainly wasn't bothered to wear the patch, infact was excited. Anyway it peeled off in the night i think the bath probably didn't help. Period already stopped & questioned putting another back on tbh..
Sounds really silly I know..
Wandering if to go another month & see or maybe try the gel as already the fact of the patch fell off is annoying
Just bought some omega 3 and magnesium and might try these too as heard helpful..
You started yours, let me know youre thoughts too

itsybitsyteenytot · 29/08/2025 10:17

That rubbish that it fell off! Where abouts did you put it? I love a bath every day so I'm really hoping that doesn't affect it!
I've tried magnesium and various other supplements and unfortunately they no.longer help me, so I'm pinning a lot on these patches.
My period isn't due for a week or so yet.

Cbpoppy · 29/08/2025 13:15

Hey
I put on my bum cheek, literally useless so I'm gonna see about the gel..
I love an evening bath too
This was the best period ive had, only 2.5 days & hardly heavy or pain...
Ive never tried magnesium or omega 3 etc so ordered
Hope you get on ok hun
