New white top Oestrogel

I'm sure this has been asked loads, but I am struggling to find the answer. I opened a new gel box the other week, saw it was the new white lidded one ... and didn't think more of it as I know it is the same stuff. I threw out the box.

But this morning it was finally time to start the new gel - took the lid off and there is a plastic ring type thing on the top. It moves around, it isn't rigid, but it is attached. Am I supposed to remove it? I did get the gel out with the plastic ring still there, but I am concerned it wasn't the full dose.

I have searched Google and I can't see the answer.

The white ring with the little cap attached on the end? If so, it's just there so you can cover up the pump dispenser opening and prevent the gel from going gummy/drying out and creating a plug between uses.

I never use it, it's a pain in the arse and always springs off (and my gel is fine between uses) with the normal big cap on.

I am at work at the moment, so when I get home I will have another look at it. So it can be used to plug up the nozzle? It was attached to both sides of the top, but wiggles around getting in the way. I put the big cap back on the top after using it as normal.

Thank you for your response, and loving the user name.

I've had that type of bottle for a long time and the little tab attached to the nozzle had always been there.

The tab for the nozzle is attached in 2 places so you need to pull it away (it will still be attached to the bottle.) This is so you can use it again after every use.

After you have used the gel, you have to pull the little tab so it covers the spout. This is (I think) to stop any evaporation of gel. Then you replace the big white top.

It's fiddly. You can cut the bit of plastic of the tab and remove it, so it's not attached, but still use it over the nozzle. Hope this makes sense.

I’ve got this one and just use the big cap, I pull off the smaller one and it’s been fine.

@Belladog1

Nice little diagram here and on the left it mentions 'releasing the stopper' and replacing after each use.

That's great. I watched the video too.

Thank you ladies .... i appreciate the help
