Period pains but no period / other issues

I’m 47 and my cycle has got shorter over the last few years. About 25 days which is annoying. However this month although I’ve got period pains and sore boobs, I’ve not started my period. I’m now 5 days ‘late’.

I’m only bothered as I go away next week and had thought I’d be period free away so I’m willing it to come soon.

is this how menopause starts? Just randomly not having a period? Is it usual to still get PMS?

I’m definitely not pregnant.

Oh no! Do you mean the period pain has tailed off? Did it just happen out of the blue?

This is exactly how my periods went and I was the same age as you are now. Started just getting shorter and shorter and then I went a couple of months with no bleed but still got all the cramps and signs I was about to start but I never did!! Then I started to go longer and longer without a bleed but each month I still get the pains. Last month was the first one that I didn't even experience the pain so I am hoping this is the beginning of the end for me now. I am 50.

I had a month with pain and no bleeding. I was pregnant. I think the pain was from implantation. If you could be pregnant do take a test.
