Am I the only weirdo getting COLD flushes?

I rarely get hot flushes. Maybe once a week.

But I've recently started getting short bursts of the chills and goosebumps out of nowhere. They only last a few seconds; sometimes just the one, more often a few in a short space of time. And not necessarily when I'm feeling cold.

I'm in really good physical and mental health, so assuming this may be related to the faulty temperature control that causes hot flushes.

Anyone else?

Mine usually manifest as a kind of cold sweat if that helps!

A friend recommended Menopace, so I’ve been taking that for a couple of weeks & they’ve cut down a bit.

Interesting! I don't sweat at all, it's definitely a cold feeling. Goosebumps all over and the shivers.

I was getting cold flushes, 4 to 6 months ago, now I m getting at least 10 (mostly mild) hot flushes a day.

My periods have stopped, got a short light one 16th May, got 1 spot of blood on 6th June (literally 1 spot when wiping), nothing since. However the flushes have escalated.

Well I'm sorry to hear that but also relieved I am not the only one!

I'm a bit further along the meno journey than you and used to get quite frequent hot flushes. Soy isoflavones supplements really helped - or least I feel like they did, either that or my symptoms diminished on their own around the same time.

I do! I suddenly get extremely cold or extremely hot, it lasts for a few minutes and then I’m back to normal. I’m taking mounjaro and wasn’t sure whether it was due to that or due to perimenopause. It’s like my body has forgotten how to regulate temperature correctly.

OMG someone else! I was exactly the same! I was looking forward to hot flushes as I'm always cold!

No I got cold shivers. I'd shake I was so cold, literally shake! I remember once trying to get my eyelashes done but had to stop for 10 mins or so as I was shivering so much the beautician couldn't lash my eyes!

I'm on HRT now so all is fine :)

Yes, I get this. Currently I am constantly stripping off and then putting layers back on.

Noshadelamp · 14/08/2025 23:58

I get both, it feels like my body trying to regulate so swings from one extreme to another!

Oh that's interesting, because I'm on WLI too (Wegovy).
