Everol Sequi - starting

I finally bit the bullet and got a prescription for HRT - Everol Sequi

i was due to start my period 5 days ago, usually regular give or take a day. But nothing. Ironic that I should be about to start HRT when my period goes awol!

I don’t know if this is the start of my periods stopping, and I’m hanging on a bit in case it suddenly shows up. But I am also holding back from starting the Everol as I would ordinarily have started it when my period showed up.

dunno how long I should wait, or can I crack on with the patches on the assumption that my period may never come? (Do/can periods just stop for menopause or can they dick about being delayed etc?)

I’m waiting for a nurse at my drs to phone back but that can take a couple of days so just thought I’d throw the question out there.

Everyone’s different but it’s very normal for periods to be erratic a long time before they finish altogether. In fact I think it’s more unusual for them to just stop although that does happen for some women.

For a year or so before I went on HRT I had patches of fairly regular periods, then I might miss one and then have two close together. I’d have patches of light periods then the odd heavy one…all over the place in short! I’ve always had regular, unproblematic periods with little pain and medium flow so it’s a bit of a shock to the system when it all starts going haywire!

I’ve been on Evorel sequi for about 8 months now and it’s taken a while for my periods to settle down. I’d wait a while to see if your period starts in a week or two, but get advice if you still haven’t had one after that to see if it’s ok to start the patches anyway.
