Can I start my hrt on day 14 of my cycle?

Hi,
I was prescribed sequential hrt (gel and utrogestan) yesterday morning by our advanced nurse practitioner. She was great and I thought I understood everything. However I need clarification as to whether I am ok to start straight away given tomorrow is day 15 of my cycle and I’ll need to go straight on the utrogestan. I did mention what day I was on and she didn’t specify to wait. I am really quite anxious about side effects having had a bad experience on sertraline a month ago (which I stopped quite quickly). Am I better to wait 2 weeks and start on day 1 of my cycle with just the gel (am going to start low dose) and then my body has some time to get used to the extra hormone before I add in the progesterone? My sleep was terrible last night- 1-2 hours maybe, and I’m a proper mess mentally, so I’m keen to get sorted.
Grateful for any experience or knowledge ❤️

I waited until the start of my next cycle, just so I knew where I was with it. I thought it would get confusing otherwise, particularly with the utrogestan.

However, maybe check with your surgery if you are unsure. You might be able to start it straight away, but best to check first.

Thanks for replying. I’ve checked the product leaflets and it’s says I’m
ok to start anytime. I can see it might be more straightforward to wait though. It’s very confusing!
