Pimples and redness

I´m 50 and have never had bad skin really, even as a teenager. In the last year or so I have noticed redness on ym forehead and down both sides of my nose and I am getting spots, when I never have before. They tend to be where the redness is, so down both sides of my nose (kind of between nose and cheekbones) and on my forehead. They are mostly cystic acne (under the skin with no head to them and painful).
Does this sound like perimenoupausal hormonal acne or rosacea?
I am still having periods every month like clockwork, although think ymbody odour is different the last few years, so maybe peri, but not signs so far in terms of cycle.
I have a referral to a dermatologist for something unrelated, so I will ask then if possible (toenail fungus that won´t resond to the varnish) but it is taking ages to come through.

Blimey, WTH are you that you get a Derm referral for a fungal nail? It’s terbinafine or OTC where we are!

My skin became awful during peri, and I never suffered as a teen. The GP prescribed Duac which was a life saver, mine were painful, under skin lumps with no head too. I now use Azelaic acid -skinoren- from an online pharmacy, but you can get slightly weaker ones that don’t need a pharmacy prescription.

Re the change in odour, after advice on here I changed to washing with bar soap instead of shower gel. Life changing. Swiping pits with my glycolic toner a couple of times a week really helps too.

I live in Spain. The doctor could prescribe me the tablet I think but decided a referral would be better.... 🤦🏻♀️
