Hrt patches

Hoping someone can give me some advice about this. I’ve been on hrt combi patches for around 8 months, most of the awful symptoms have gone away and the best one was my painful heavy periods were no longer painful or heavy. Since the heatwave my patches kept falling off and now the last couple of months my periods have become irregular and painful again- so now every two weeks I get them instead of 4 weeks!
i am going try and get an appointment with my gp about this, but the wait is long and I have a new one who isn’t keen on me being on hrt at the age of 44. Any advice or knowledge on this would be helpful.

Try and find ways of making your patches stick - apply them to your hips, bum or tummy under your knickers.

You could buy some tape, or film dressings to apply over the patches to keep them on.

If they’re not staying on consistently then you may well get irregular bleeding, I’d try to wear them consistently for a month or two and see if the bleeding settles and if not then see the GP. Another option is to switch to the gel with either oral progesterone or IUS combo then you won’t have to worry about patches staying on.
