Vaginal atrophy / GSM and orgasm

Hi all

Here is an odd one for you. I have been a sufferer of vaginal atrophy and am being treated for it. I don't have penetrative sex anymore for a variety of reasons but still can orgasm via clitoral means. However, after this happens I don't feel 'quite right' for a few days afterwards. It is like still feeling somewhat aroused in the awareness / aching kind of way but it is in no way pleasant and is actually really annoying.

This actually started after I had a Mirena IUD so perhaps this is also something to do with it (don't have it anymore - was taken out about about a year ago)

Has anyone experienced anything like this and did you find any way to stop it?

Thanks for reading XX

Totally understand how you feel, have the same condition and can’t have penetrative sex anymore either.
I think everything in the area feels so thin that it alerts every nerve ending, so an orgasm might be nice in the moment but afterwards everything feels overly sensitive.
I often find now after that I get a yeast infection, have friends who battle constant UTIs.
Sorry don’t have much in the way of answers. I have had vulval pain for many years and have an anaesthetic cream I am allowed to use when it is really bad - it’s called lidocaine and my GP prescribes it after seeing a specialist. That feels odd in itself when the whole area feels numb, but it is a bit of a relief.
Have you tried oestrogen pessaries or local oestrogen cream to the area?
