Awaiting hysterectomy - see doc for perimenopause?

I have been waiting for my hysterectomy for over 3 years and am finally in (hopefully) the last few months of being on the waiting list. Ridiculously heavy periods.

In the last 2 months, I’ve developed severe peri symptoms - weight, anxiety, brain fog, tiredness, sleep disturbance etc. Last month I had a 3-week period.

I want to go to the doc and discuss HRT/perimenopause but I am also wary of disrupting my hysterectomy or being told they’ll cancel it. Is it worth pursuing, or do I wait until they’ve pinched my womb?

There’s no reason you can’t start HRT now. You’ll have to take progesterone as well as oestrogen but after the hysterectomy you can go oestrogen only. Hysterectomy was the best thing I ever did! Good luck x
