Histamine intolerance related to estrogen

Is that a real thing?

I ask as I started HRT a few months ago. I get huge flares in irritation mid-cycle.

The only other thing I noticed is that I seem to suddenly have this bunged up nose, insanely itching eyes and my teeth feel funny, also get ear pain. I assume this is some sort of hay-fever, which I've never had before.

It's just that it seems to flare at the same time my (definitely hormonal) irritation does.

I read something about histamine intolerance being related to estrogen. But it just seems so weird. Does anyone have any personal experience or proper information about it ?

I'm midway through looking into this but can't use evorel patches or estrogel because of severe histamine response, results in massive red, itchy hives

I am undergoing a battery of blood tests etc atm and I think I have an histamine intolerance...I'm convinced it's been brought on by menopause and the fluctuating hormones.

Because I've had episodes of nearly passing out and having heart palpitations (which I thought were just stress related) I was referred to cardiology but a heart monitor didn't indicate anything, BP is fine, ECG is fine. Next was an ENT consultant because of the horrendous blocked nose/sinus', tinnitus, ear pain and headaches...the consultant diagnosed 'midfacial segment pain' which is kind of migraines of the face and prescribed amitriptyline. Currently having blood tests for allergies because on occasion, when having a glass of wine, my skin around my neck, chest and face goes horribly red and blotchy.

All these 'little' things (palpitations, blocked sinus', headaches, tinnitus, ear pain, nearly fainting, blotchy skin) seem to be similar to the list of symptoms for histamine intolerance so I'll be speaking with GP about this angle once the latest bloods come back.

All this has taken about a year so far...and I'm absolutely sick to bloody death of it all. The symptoms are now chronic and I'm fed up to the back teeth of feeling so shite 24/7.

I don't have any 'proper' information on it other than what I've googled OP.
