Is this normal fluctuation or do I need to tweak my estrogen?

Would appreciate thoughts. Have been on HRT for about three months now.

ive got one week of progesterone tabs left to take.

have had three days akin to pre-HRT hell: migraine, exhaustion. Went to bed at 4 last night and slept for hours and have woken up still exhausted and now I’m bleeding. I think I’m not supposed to have a period until the end of next week.

is this normal or do I need to tweak my Estrogen? Currently on two pumps.

Poor you.

Where are you with your own cycles?
TBH this sounds like your own cycle (period) and not connected to HRT.
In just 3 months, HRT won't necessarily regulate your own cycles if you still have them.

If you're post menopausal that's different.

Yes I agree, it does sound like my own cycle. I really hoped the HRT would override the hideousness but my mad hormones are strong! I hope if I ride it out maybe it will get better in a few more weeks 🤞

The progesterone made me crazy! Terrible mood swings, headaches, sleeplessness. Absolutely awful. My lovely GP suggested a Mirena coil (in conjunction with the oestrogen gel) and it’s been a huge improvement. Apparently the progesterone just has horrific side effects for some women, so perhaps ask about the coil as an option. Good luck!

I’m not post menopausal, I should add. Age 44 now, period meant to come at end of month :-(

Sadly, this is normal for anyone your age.
HRT doesn't always control cycles, especially after just 3 months and you're now in peri so you won't have regular cycles- they can be shorter or longer.

If this is the first time it's happened, it won't be the progesterone or you'd have had those symptoms in previous cycles.

As PP says if you want full control of your periods and not to bleed, think about the Mirena?

It won't always stop periods altogether (and some women find it has side effects too like low mood and weight gain) but it's there as an option.

Thanks that’s really helpful, I think I naively thought HRT would control both my symptoms and my cycles (like the pill!) I think if the bleeding wasn’t accompanied by feeling so awful I wouldn’t be so disappointed 😂
