I understand that you can get this OTC. What are the advantages? I cannot get full HRT and wondered what symptoms this might alleviate. Thanks.

Yes I've been using it for a few months. There's a pessary and cream. Alleviates vaginal dryness. Improves thickness of labia etc. however I mostly use it on my face as it's good for wrinkles !

Hi, I do. It's definitely made me less dry and sensitive. I was getting to the point where just eg sitting in a theatre to watch a play made me sore after a while. I think I must have had quite bad vaginal atrophy TBH. Sex was not an option, but it is now.

The first two weeks of putting it in every day were a bit intense but now it's just weekly it's settled into a routine. I use the cream (Ovesse).

Oh my God I was just the same. I remember telling a friend that it was ridiculous that I was so aware of my vagina all the bloody time! I use Estriol cream.

@helluvatime Vaginal estrogen is for genito urinary symptoms of menopause (GSM.)

bssm.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/GSM-BSSM.pdf

It's not going to help any other symptoms of menopause where you'd need systemic HRT.

99.9% of women who can't use systemic HRT can use vaginal estrogen but it does depend on your health issues - you may need to double check with a doctor.

Thanks. I cannot get HRT where I live as I am abroad but I was hoping that it might help with other menopause symptoms (not just vaginal problems) too. Back to the drawing board!
