Where do you put your HRT patches?

I've just had a review and changed my HRT Patches (Evorel 50 now). I've always been putting the patches on my hips but my GP who I don't really trust (long story) says I can and people do put them in different places. But when I got my new pack the inlay does say below waist. But I'm curious about where everyone else puts them?

Left buttock on Saturday, right buttock on Wednesday.

My mate prefers thigh because she can see if it’s fallen off or not (which was an issue at one point with the adhesive not working)

Always below the waist.

Mine go at the top of my buttock. It’s the only place I’ve found that Evorel don’t fall off.

Jackiebrambles · 19/07/2025 13:02

Hip, thigh or buttock! Alternate sides. Always below waist as that’s what it says. I do find it’s a bit trial and error, if it’s in the wrong spot it can start to peel off with clothes going up and down over it!

Usually hip/buttocks below waist. Tried thighs but found this uncomfortable.

Doggymummar · 19/07/2025 13:04

On my bum or my thigh.

Passthecake30 · 19/07/2025 13:04

Hip bones, at the front, in my knickers if that makes sense.

yeesh · 19/07/2025 13:07

On my arse, only place they stay on for me.

Nifty50something · 19/07/2025 13:12

Arse because then they're not visible when I'm in a swimsuit (I was slightly annoyingly asked about one by my father at the beach when it was on my thigh).

MrsSmorrebrod · 19/07/2025 13:47

Thanks everyone, clearly my GP is totally making things up as she goes along as I suspected. Below waist it is.

How so? My hips are below my waist, aren't yours?

MajesticWhine · 19/07/2025 20:17

On my hip or outside of buttock alternating sides. My GP suggested putting them on my shoulder but I have never done that.

So are mine, but my GP said I could put them above waist, on my arm or shoulder for example, which is why I was wondering.

I am having a real issue with evorel conti patches and them not falling off! I haven’t tried my bum though - they were on my thighs but I get black marks from my clothes.

Messycoo · 19/07/2025 20:24

In front of my ovaries.

Fitzcarraldo353 · 19/07/2025 20:29

I use Estradot and the leaflet said lower abdomen so that's what I do - kind of front of my hip around knicker line. When I temporarily switched to Evorel I put it on the top of my outer thigh

Same problem, I've gone for a buttock this time, fingers crossed, failing that I'll work my way down the list!

I bought some zotti wipes that are for medical adhesive. Gets the black marks off well.

I had a chuckle at the “somewhere hairless below the waist” that doesn’t describe much of my body below the waist 😂

PestoHoliday · 26/07/2025 08:36

@FoxRedPuppy baby oil on a cotton ball does a great job of removing it as well.
