50s, current symptoms:
Aching & random pains, some of the pains are painful but momentary
Eating EVERYTHING in site - a lot of weight gain due to this
Slow, sluggish
Low energy
Always had good eye sight but all of a sudden I struggle to read the small print (no glasses)
Bleary eyed
Could not ever again contemplate being energetic in any shape or form - no sprinting (not that I did that in in adulthood anyways) or vigorous sports (never have done these, but that was though choice not because I wasn't able to)
feeling like the world is against me
no mojo

Sounds very much like peri. It's bloody miserable

Are you interested in HRT? I recommend it very highly

MujeresLibres · 16/07/2025 13:44

Could be peri, could be underactive thyroid. Could be both.

FastPig · 17/07/2025 23:13

All sounds like peri to me, OP. Given your age I'd say it's almost certainly what it is. 47 here and have all of the above (plus seemingly 6 million other symptoms too...)

Winterymix · 17/07/2025 23:23

Get your thyroid tested - that's easier to rule out! There's so much overlap between the symptoms it's worth checking.

I suddenly can't read food packets, got some reading glasses from home bargains- amazing!

Sounds like it!

HRT helped me.

I’m also on magnesium, turmeric, vitamin D, Biotin, Zinc & have just started collagen.

Also have been taking mushroom gummies (Ahnkway sp?) which seem to be the thing that’s working (but not sure as I started taking a lot of things at other same time 🤦🏻‍♀️).

Oh, also tried CBD which did help but I found the millions of different strengths and diseases too complicated for my fog addled brain to process.
