Mirena coil and bleeding

Hi. I had a Mirena coil fitted around 5 weeks ago. I'm on Evorel patches and until the coil, had been taken progesterone tablets but am currently on weight loss injections so was advised to switch to a coil.
I've now had a period for 3 weeks. It's not heavy at all, a couple of small pads a day but it's definitely can't be classed as spotting. Is this normal? I was told the coil stops periods. Before, I was having heavy periods for 5+days but at least I got a break!
Any advice or knowledge welcome!

It's normal. I had two coils. The first took 3 months to settle ( bleeding up to 3 weeks of the month) then no periods for 4 years. My second took over a year to settle, and I still get periods with it in.
