I had to up my oestrogel dose from 2 to 3 pumps back in March felt fine since when I wanted to repeat prescription I was told I should extend my progesterone (gepretix) from 12 days to 21 days does this sound right and why wasn't I told this when I first upped my dosage

Was this your GP who told you that?

It's not standard advice.

The current advice is for higher doses of gel ( 3 or 4 pumps) it may be necessary to increase micronised progesterone to 300mgs x 12 days (or 14 days.)

But this has to be individualised. Some women find the side effects too difficult on a higher dose. And it's only necessary (usually) if you have spotting in between cycles or erratic bleeding.

The 21 days is not listed as a licensed dose anywhere, but can be used off-licence, usually through a private consultant, as a shorter variation on continuous HRT (100mg daily).

I'd sent a message to my GP surgery to request my prescription earlier than they'd allowed because they hadn't put 3 doses on my script only 2 and I got a message back I think from the in-house pharmacist about extending the progesterone dose I am also on the mini-pill I do sometimes suffer spotting and occasional irregular bleeds but it had settled down after upping oestrogel I'm taking 2 100mg for 12days currently of Gepretix

21 days x 200mgs is not a recognised dose.
Maybe the pharmacist has got their wires crossed?
The advice with spotting is to increase dose to 300mgs a day for 12 days, or increase 200mgs to 14 days (not 12.)
