Why does the doctor give you Norethindrone to stop.a never ending period when all the information says it won't stop a period once it's started?

It sounds as if you have been given Norethisterone rather than Tranexamic acid.

Th first delays a period, if taken early enough, the second reduces the bleeding.

I told her I've had it before and it didn't work then, all she said was your period will return when you stop taking the tablets. I couldn't get her to understand that the period doesn't stop while I'm taking the tablets
