HRT not longer as effective, advice on tweaking

Could I get some advice from others who might have experienced this? I've been on HRT a while. I've been on evorel 50 which seemed to work well. But lately I've started to feel bad. My sleep is not good, I've been getting sudden hotness and at the same time a sort of swimminess. I have a feeling of being quite sad and weepy for no reason at all, which I wasn't before and isn't like me. I am 50 now and wondering if what was working for me is no longer working as well. Has anyone else experienced this? Did anything work for you? I am wondering if I should ask to try an increase of the estrogen part of my regime, maybe asking to try a 75. If I did this should it be done very gradually, if so how slowly? Or is it ok to go from a 50 straight to a 70? Unfortunately I have a very long wait to see the gynie I was seeing, so I can't ask for quite a long while. Would the progesterone part also have to be increased?

Any thoughts welcome.

To be honest, I took matters into my own hands when it came to experimenting with patches and started applying an extra half patch. All the doctor would initially do would be to say "Here's a 75 prescription, give it a go", so it's the same really.

Me too. I’d try more estrogen (another 1/2 patch) for a couple of weeks and reassess. You won’t need to increase your progesterone going from a 50 patch to a 75.
