Abdominal pain - menopause?

I have had this for about 4 weeks, cramping really getting me down and feel very tired. Pain is low down in my abdomen and I’m having to take regular pain killers. Dr was very good and wee test was fine, she’s checking with. Poo sample but really impacting my day to day life. I’m meant to go to a friends bday party this weekend (staying over) and was really looking forward to it as catching up with old uni mates but now thinking twice. Any wisdom gratefully received, thank you

I think it's worth investigating many other cuases other than menopause just in case as abdominal pain is a symptom for many illnesses. However, HRT can help with it, if menopause is the cause as well. And if it's interfering with your life it suggests it's not simply menopause. Go back to the GP and mention that the symptoms are interfering with your day to day life. I can't really be more specific as like I said it's a broad symptom, try and localise the pain location e.g pelvic, upper abdomen. Also try and write down your symptoms each day and how much medication you use for them to see any trends and patterns for GP. It could be fibroid, cysts, or issues with inflammation, infection. Push for more investigation because it seems the pain is too significant not too.

Thank you, it’s been difficult this week as I’ve had to be at work every day but am free tomorrow afternoon so will try to book an appointment for then. I can’t take HRT unfortunately as had BC some years ago x
