Extremely painful breasts

Hi. Having been in the perimenopause for about 4 years now, in the last couple of months I've developed a new symptom of exceptionally painful breast. I will go and get it double checked at the gp but I'm sure it's hormonal. Does anyone have this and if so, is there any treatment for it? I've scoured the Internet and can't find any answers....

I get this on and off and it’s worse the week up to my period starting. Definitely hormonal.

I use ibuprofen gel to ease this - one side always worse than the other for me.

Glad to know I'm not alone! And it's definitely worse the week leading up to me period. I've not been in this much agony since I stopped breastfeeding and had to let them engorge! Oddly, I hadn't even considered pain killers... I find my ibuprofen!

Had the pain in one breast to the point I had a scan. All was fine.

Have fortunately since discovered Evening Primrose Oil tablets are a god send and since I started taking them, the pain has pretty much gone.

Yes, I've been getting this. Some days my nipples feel as if I've slammed them in the car door. I'll try evening primrose, @Fullmoonwalker - thank you.

I had this, it felt like the first couple of days my milk came in. I wore two soft crop tops on the really bad days.
