So much irritation down there :(

Been on HRT (Sandrena + Utrogestan) for a few years (I’m 44 and in peri), plus Vagirux around 3 x a week.

Very occasionally I have a week of vulvar soreness and itching, which is usually preceded by heavier discharge, which I assume is hormonal. It generally clears up pretty quickly.

Lately I had a TON of discharge followed by being really sore, followed by itching and general
irritation. Sex was sore. It hasn’t cleared up, so I got tested for STIs (all clear) and apparently no BV either. No urinary issues.

I can only think this might be vaginal atrophy, but I take the Vagirux religiously. I’ve started also using Ovestin cream as I had some, and although it did seem to get a bit better I had sex yesterday and now I’m sore again.

I also failed to climax, and this is not normally an issue for me. It’s like there’s suddenly not enough sensation :(

I have a GP appointment in a week, but wondering if anyone has any ideas?

It’s a relatively new relationship and it’s ruining it.

Oh - and yesterday I also had some light irregular bleeding.

Periods are usually regular-ish on the HRT.

I had the same symptoms as you it was so uncomfortable my Dr Prescribed Ovestin
There is also vaginal moisturiser called Yes which I find soothing as well

You can do a loading dose on vagifem. Ignore the twice a week or whatever prescription and use it every day for a couple of months or until you really start to see/feel an improvement.

A nurse advised me to wash underneath with just warm/hot water, no soap. That may not solve all your problems, but it might help.

You need to use the Vagifem more often.

Years ago the actual dose in it was 25mcgs. For whatever reason, this was reduced to 10mcg so it's much weaker yet there was never any advice to increase the use per week.

Try using it daily for a few weeks and see if that helps.

I only ever wash with water.

Ok, I’ll use the Vagirux (assuming this is the same as Vagifem) every day and see if that helps.

I thought using it 3 x week would be enough to stave this off!
